Medical Office Assistant Certificate
The Medical Office Assistant Certificate program, offered at Bramson ORT College, provides students with the basic skills and knowledge for an entry-level position as a medical administrative assistant. The program is designed for two groups of individuals: those who are already trained in the medical field, who would like to brush up on their skills; and those who would like to enter the medical field, and learn how to become a medical office assistant.
This program provides intensive training and a strong emphasis on learning practical skills. Students will take courses in data and word processing, keyboarding, secretarial practices, medical billing and coding, medical office administrative procedures and medical terminology. Upon completion of the certificate, students will be able to work in medical offices, insurance companies and multispecialty centers as medical office assistants.
Credits obtained by students while in the Medical Office Assistant Certificate program are transferable to two-year and four-year programs at Bramson ORT College and other colleges and universities worldwide. In order to earn the Medical Office Assistant Certificate at Bramson ORT College, a student must complete at least 30 credits.

Medical office assistants are a vital part of the running and maintenance of physician offices, hospitals and outpatient care centers. Assistants are responsible for performing secretarial duties including, but not limited to, billing patients, scheduling appointments, answering phones and compiling medical charts.
