Secretary Certificate
Office secretaries are considered to be at the front line of the companies they’re working for. Generally, they are the first to meet individuals from both inside and outside the company. Thus, their behavior and their role is seen as essential to the success of the company. More importantly, secretaries are those who support senior staff and department heads.
Besides typing and word processing skills, secretaries must also have strong management and soft skills. This is directly tied to the fact that secretaries are responsible for handling client and office needs, and making sure that the office runs properly.
The Secretary Certificate at Bramson ORT College combines secretarial skills and advanced computer applications. With an emphasis on hands-on training, students will learn advanced keyboarding and publishing skills, and will take courses in accounting, business law, advanced computer applications and small business management. Upon completion of the certificate, students will be able to perform the basic skills necessary to manage any business office.
Credits obtained by students while in the Secretary Certificate program are transferable to two-year and four-year programs at Bramson ORT College and other colleges and universities worldwide. In order to earn the Secretary Certificate at Bramson ORT College, a student must complete at least 30 credits.
