ESL-English as a Second Language
For more than 125 years, the ORT educational system has been at the forefront of immigrant education. Bramson ORT College is an integral part of that tradition, attracting hundreds of immigrants and foreign students every year. To serve this population, Bramson ORT offers ESL courses to all non-native students with limited English proficiency to improve their comprehension of course material and to fully integrate them into the College community.
Program Description
The English as a Second Language program at Bramson ORT College comprises six levels of English proficiency to help students with limited English acquire the skills necessary for academic success. Each level includes a comprehensive curriculum in reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Audio-visual materials, computer software, and Internet resources are incorporated in courses at all levels. Students are required to complete the ESL sequence from the point of initial placement.
Employment Opportunities
English language proficiency is essential to a successful career in the United States. Many career opportunities are open to professionals with fluent verbal and written English skills.
