The tremendous growth in the electronics and computer fields has created an unprecedented demand for qualified technicians to service, maintain, inspect, operate, design, and develop electronic systems. Bramson ORT’s Electronic Technology Associate Degree Program is designed to prepare students for a variety of occupations in the field of electronics. Today, everything and everyone is connected. Commercial and residential establishments need to be plugged in, whether it’s cabling, audio/video circuits, computer networks, fiber optics or telecommunications, wireless communications or satellite systems. Wherever you go, there will be a need for an Electronic Systems Technician. With industry-experienced instructors ready to apply their practical field knowledge gained from a variety of real-world environments, we can give you the training necessary to access this dynamic, new career avenue.

Career Opportunities

Students from Bramson ORT College are currently working as Telecommunications Specialists, Certified Electronics and Computer Technicians, Certified Computer Systems Software Engineers, Network Systems and Data Communications Analysts, CISCO Certified Network Associates, Fiber Optic Technicians, Laser/Optical Technicians, Building Equipment Contractor, Electronics Repairers, Commercial and Industrial Electronics Technicians, Biomedical Instrument Technicians and Relay Technicians. Bureau of Labor Statistics – Employment is expected to increase 25 percent for all occupational areas within the electronics industry through 2014. Rising demand for electronic goods—including advanced communications equipment, defense-related electronic equipment, medical electronics, and consumer products—should continue to increase employment opportunities.

Electronics System Technician
Certificate & Diploma Program

The certificate programs are intended for individuals who are employed in companies that need to have some basic electrical/electronic knowledge or who need to upgrade their skills in this field with emphasis in the industrial electrical/electronic career field. In the Electronic Diploma Program, students will spend 15 credits hours in the study of basic electronic circuitry and electronic components. Both programs have credit transferability to the two-year AAS Electronic Technology degree program. Students may enroll full-time or part-time in the regularly scheduled day program or the late afternoon and evening classes, when offered.
