How To Apply For Financial Aid
To apply for financial aid at Bramson ORT College, you must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) either via the web at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ or by paper. The Federal school code is 014662.
New York State residents will receive an Electronic TAP Application (ETA) directly from Higher Education Services based upon your filing the FASFA. Complete the ETA and return it to Higher Education Services to complete the TAP application process. The Bramson ORT College TAP code is 0055 for undergraduates. You can estimate your TAP award by using the TAP Estimator at http://www.hesc.com/.
Once you have mailed your application to HESC, you will receive an award letter. In the meantime, you can check your application status at http://www.hesc.com/.
After the completed FAFSA is mailed to the Dept. of Education, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). Bramson ORT College will also receive a copy of the SAR that we will use to determine your award eligibility.

Bramson ORT College Scholarship
The Financial Aid awards Bramson ORT College Scholarships. Applications must be completed by February 1. If you would like more information about scholarships, you should contact Financial Aid Office: 718-261-5800 ext. 643.
In addition to Scholarships offered by Bramson ORT College, there are thousands of companies, foundations and groups that offer private scholarships based upon a variety of criteria. You can search for opportunities at http://www.fastweb.com/ or http://www.scholarships.com/. You should also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ (FAFSA) to take full advantage of Federal and New York State Aid Programs.
Private Loan
There are several lenders that offer alternative loans in addition to or in place of the Stafford Loan. Requirements differ and rejection by one lender does not mean that you cannot apply to another for consideration. Listed below are the links to several lenders. These loans should be considered only after your eligibility for the Stafford Subsidized and Unsubsidized has been determined.

Verification Worksheet
Once your FAFSA is completed and processed, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). If it indicates that you were selected for a process called Verification, you must provide a copy of the prior year Income Tax return(s) and complete a Dependant or an Independent Verification Worksheet.
A. Complete the Dependent Worksheet (you must have the free Acrobat Reader software) if you had to supply your parents income information on your FAFSA. Make sure you and one of your parents sign the Verification Worksheet.

B. Complete the Independent Worksheet (you must have the free Acrobat Reader software ) if you were NOT required to supply your parents income verification.
Immigration and Naturalization Service
If you are an eligible non citizen and Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) cannot confirm your residency status, you must provide the Financial Aid Office with a copy of your Green Card or your I-94 Form.
US Citizens
If you are a U.S. Citizen, and Social Security Administration can not confirm your citizenship, you must provide the Financial Aid Office with a copy of your Birth Certificate or a copy of your Naturalization Certificate.
Selective Service
Male Students must be registered with selective service. You can register or check the status of your registration at http://www.sss.gov/.
TAP Change Form
For college code or address changes, you may complete a TAP Change Form at the TAP web site at http://www.hesc.com/.
Other Forms
Important Notice:
You must file and complete processing for all financial aid, grants, and loans no later than two weeks before the beginning of a term.
Full payment of your tuition is due two weeks before the beginning of each semester.
Bramson ORT College will contact you regarding the completion of your financial aid forms, but it is your responsibility to make sure you have submitted the required forms.
